2019 Summer European Youth Olympic Festival will be held in Baku.
Azerbaijan Youth and Sports Minister Azad Rahimov, Vice-President of the Azerbaijan National Olympic Committee (NOC) Chingiz Huseynzade, President of European Olympic Committees (EOC) President Janez Kocijančič and EOC Secretary General Raffaele Pagnozzi have signed a relevant agreement at the 46th EOC General Assembly held in Zagreb, Croatia.
The EYOF symbolically unites the youth of Europe in one Athletes’ Village. It is a gateway to the Olympic Games, with many medallists having gone on to win medals at an Olympic Games, and gives top young athletes a first taste of what an Olympic event is like, at the same time encouraging more youngsters to practise sport and lead a healthy lifestyle.
