Russia’s Minister of Emergency Situations visits Azerbaijan Minister of Emergency Situations of Russia Sergey Shoigu is on a visit to Azerbaijan. APA reports that Sergey Shoigu and Minister of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan Kamaladdin Heydarov have visited Heydar Aliyev’s grave in the Alley of Honor.
The Russian Minister will meet with Kamaladdin Heydarov and other officials. Issues of bilateral cooperation will be discussed during the meetings.

Some more Russian companies’ websites show Nagorno Karabakh as independent stateAPA Information Agency continues to find out the companies showing Azerbaijan’s Nagorno Karabakh region, as an independent state, or a part of Armenia. The website of Russia’s “Rosfoto” photo bank showed Nagorno Karabakh as a part of Armenia.
“This is the most ancient monastery in Nagorno Karabakh that is a part of Armenia” is written under the photo of one of the temples of Dadivank monastery. (http://www.rosfoto.ru/shop/photo/59076). Besides, STREAM internet project, which is engaged in taking, publishing and keeping the photos, also showed Nagorno Karabakh as an independent state. Photos of Azerbaijan’s occupied territory Nagorno Karabakh have been posted on the website. One of them is the photo of the building knocked down during Karabakh war (http://streamphoto.ru.users/Patker/230516/01a688cdf111cb527342809e0c0dff38).

Russia plans to abolish institute of presidency in autonomous republicsThe Kremlin is going to abolish institute of presidency in the autonomous republics. APA reports quoting Russia media that the parliament of Tatarstan intends to discuss constitutional amendment in connection with the abolition of the institute of presidency. In this case Mintimer Shaimiev, who has been president of Tatarstan for 17 years, will be speaker of the parliament. Analogous reforms may be carried out in other autonomous republics.

YAP holds all-republic meeting related to the presidential elections in AzerbaijanNew Azerbaijan Party (YAP) has held the all-republic meeting of the heads of party’s city and regional organizations, related to the preparations for upcoming presidential elections, Press-Service of the Party told APA. Addressing the meeting, the YAP Deputy Chairman and Executive Secretary Ali Ahmadov said a number of amendments had been made to the Electoral Code by the Parliament’s decision. He said according to the amendments, the election campaign would start in early August and agitation would be conducted for 28 days. The rest of campaign period will be spent for nomination of the candidates and collection of signatures for their registration, as well as verification of the signatures in the Central Election Commission and other procedures.

According to the spokesman, negotiations are underway with Iran and Turkey.

New opportunities for Nagorno-Karabakh negotiations“After passing of the UN Resolution on the Situation in the Occupied Territory of Azerbaijan, new opportunities have been created for the negotiations on settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, and these must be accepted by OSCE Minsk Group’s co-chairs and other international organizations,” Khazar Ibrahim, Spokesperson for Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, said to journalists on 9 June.
At the beginning of March, the UN General Assembly supported the Resolution on the Situation in the Occupied Territory of Azerbaijan. The Resolution was passed, with 39 countries voting for, 7 against (including OSCE Minsk Group’s co-chairing countries – Russia, France and USA) and 100 abstained.
