 CIS Observation Mission will consist of 389 people during presidential elections on October 15, APA reports. Head of CIS Observation Mission Yevgeniy Sloboda said, while rendering the report, APA reports. He said that the observers were parliamentarians of CIS member countries, representatives of central election commissions, diplomatic missions, CIS Executive Committee and CIS Interparliamentary Assembly.

 Interior Minister, Colonel-General Ramil Usubov has met with US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Anne Derse, Interior Ministry’s Press Service told APA. Usubov provided information about measures taken on preparation for presidential elections on October 15. It was stated in the meeting that OSCE Office in Baku along with International Human Rights Community Azerbaijan National Department had taken several measures on increase of awareness of policemen on freedom of assembly in several regions.

 Ballot papers published by the Central Election Commission (CEC) are being distributed to the election constituencies. CEC press service told APA that according to the Electoral Code distribution of ballot papers to the election constituencies should end five days before the voting. The election constituencies will be sent to the polling stations three days before the voting.

 Association for Civil Society Development in Azerbaijan (ACSDA) has publicized one-month results of the monitoring conducted in mass media in connection with the presidential elections.  Archeological excavation carried out in ancient Gogur Gala settlement in Nakhchivan has been concluded, Gahraman Agayev, Head of Scientific expedition told APA.  OSCE/ODIHR mission for observing elections in Azerbaijan has released its second report, APA reports. The report says that the pre-election atmosphere in the country is calm. “There is little public interest in the elections, due to the lack of bright competition. Only New Azerbaijan Party (YAP) is carrying out active pre-election campaign. Other candidates are also carrying out election campaign, but this process is not active,” the report says.

 ACSDA presented monitoring results for one month held in Mass Media concerning presidential elections, APA reports. The monitoring will be conducted till the election date. Monitoring covers the activity of 7 TV channels, and 8 daily newspapers.During the past time generally 327 information was presented on TV channels concerning elections, of them 295 were official and general information concerning international missions and monitoring of election process, 17 talk-shows, round tables and 105 information about candidates and political advertisements.
