858 candidates applied for vacancies in tax bodies, APA-Economics reports quoting the Commission.

“The development of a report on results of the election is in final stage and I will present it in Madrid meeting,” Andreas Herkel, PACE co-reporter on Azerbaijan said to TrendNews by telephone from Tallinn.

President of Azerbaijan signs several award decrees  On Wednesday President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed a decree on conferring personal pension to Dilber Akhundzade and Movlud Balakishiyev for great services in development of mass media in the country. The Cabinet of Ministers is charged with settling all the issues proceeding from the decree.
On Wednesday President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed a decree on awarding 8 persons with the honorary title of Honoured journalist for the services in the development of television in the country.

Azerbaijani President begins his visit to Turkey by visiting Ataturk’s MausoleumOn November 5, from the Esenboga airport in Ankara, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev headed to Anıtkabir, the mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the founder of the Republic of Turkey. The President visited Ataturk’s grave to show his great respect to the Turkish national leader.
A wreath was placed at the great Ataturk`s tomb on behalf of the Azerbaijani leader. The memory of a great sun of Turkic world was honored by a minute of silence.

Azerbaijani leader congratulates new U.S. PresidentAzerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev congratulated the newly elected U.S. President Barack Obama.
“I hope the relations between Azerbaijan and the United States will be rapidly developing,” President Aliyev said in Ankara on 5 October during his official visit to Turkey.
Democrat Barack Obama won the presidential election in the United States.
For the first time in the history of the United States of America, African-American candidate became leader in the presidential elections.
His basic motto is the word “changes”.

Interviewing to fill Azerbaijani state offices’ vacancies overInterviewing to fill 198 vacancies at 14 state offices in Azerbaijan is over.
A total of 47 candidates successfully passed the interviewing, Azerbaijani Presidential Office’s State Service Commission said on 5 November. So, 16 people aspire to the vacancies at the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, nine to those at the Ministry of Economic Development and eight to those at the Real Estate Register State Service.

During election campaign Barack Obama put very little stress on international policy. Unlike John McCain, he did not advance any global international ideas. The political situation in America has also changed. Only one party – Democrats will control the White House, Congress and Senate for the first time after a long term which means that any law can now pass through all instances without any obstacles. In fact, one-party system took a lead in America where Republicans are now opposition and their voice only is of advisory character.

“A dialogue cannot be held under any conditions. If any party wants to hold dialogue with the NAP under definite conditions, our dialogue with them will not take place,” MP Siyavush Novruzov, the deputy executive secretary of the NAP, told TrendNews.
Several meetings amongst opposition, the authorities and pro-government parties took place on the eve of the parliamentary elections of 2005 through mediation of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Baku Office.

Dmitry Medvedev: “Russia will further make efforts on the settlement of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict”Russia will further make efforts on elimination of tensions in neighboring regions, as well as settlement of Transdniestr and Nagorno-Karabakh conflicts, Medvedev said in his statement addressed to the Federal Assembly, APA reports.

More than 90 religious communities registered in Azerbaijan this year519 religious communities have been registered in Azerbaijan so far, said Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Religious Associations Hidayat Orujov, APA reports. He said more than 10 religious communities had been registered over the past ten months. One of the communities registered this year is Judaist and others Islamic. “Recently we did not reject request of any community, but registration of 7 communities registered earlier was annulled”.

US dollar exchange rate rose 0.11% in Azerbaijan, OctoberAzerbaijan’s national currency manat (AZN) fell 0.11% against the US dollar in October, said Baku Interbank Currency Exchange.
The dollar exchange rate rose to AZN 0.8092 from AZN 0.8083.
The manat-dollar average weighted rate stood at AZN 0.8094 in October, compared to AZN 0.8118/USD 1 in September.
The manat average weighted rate strengthened 4.25% since early this year.

AzPromo said the business forum will be held in the frame of Swedish Minister of Employment Sven Otto Littorin’s visit to Azerbaijan.
