 Russian and U.S. presidents Dmitriy Medvedev and Barack Obama signed a preliminary agreement on Monday to cut their countries’ nuclear arsenals to 1,500-1,675 operational warheads within seven years after a new arms reduction treaty comes into force, APA reports quoting RIA-Novosty. The framework deal agreed during Kremlin talks between Dmitry Medvedev and Barack Obama during the U.S. leader’s first visit to Russia sets guidelines for a new treaty to replace the START 1 pact, due to expire in December.

 “Azerbaijan uses the experience of military doctrines of world countries at present, but Azerbaijan’s own military doctrine will be discussed in the autumn session of Milli Mejlis”, member of the Parliament’s Security and Defense Committee Aydin Mirzazadeh told journalists, APA reports. He said the number of issues was described in the Azerbaijan’s National Security Concept approved by the head of state.

The intergovernmental agreement on the Nabucco natural gas pipeline project, which has great energy security importance for both Turkey and Europe, will be signed on July 13, 2009 in Ankara, said the statement.
