 In 2011, Baku will host a forum on intercultural dialogue initiated by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Azerbaijani Culture and Tourism Minister Abulfaz Garayev said on Oct.13. The sixth conference of the Islamic countries' culture ministers in Baku which is to end on Oct.15 adopted a communiqué on the development of intercultural dialogue.

 It is planned to launch direct the Baku-Damascus flights to develop tourism ties between Syria and Azerbaijan by late October, Syrian Culture Minister, Riad Nasan al-Agha said. The Minister said that Azerbaijan will likely carry out this flight.

"Turkish Foreign Ministry, the presidential staff and the office of Prime Minister [of Turkey] did not give orders banning the Azerbaijani flags at the match," said Hashimov. "Bringing the Azerbaijani flag cannot be banned."

 The Azerbaijani State Customs Committee has burnt a huge party of expired and unfit for human consumption food products confiscated when importing into the country, the committee said on Oct.13. The committee has burnt 78,170 units of tobacco products of various kinds, 634 units of biological food additives of unknown composition, 634 bottles of beer, 787 liters of homemade alcoholic beverages, 41,820 pieces of firecrackers, fireworks and pyrotechnics, as well as 56 kilos of caviar.

 Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan will pay a visit to Iraq to meet with Iraqi President Jalal Talabani and his Iraqi counterpart, Nouri al-Maliki, the Turkish Anadolu news agency said. The Turkish delegation, including several ministers and businessmen, headed by Erdogan will visit Iraq on Oct.15.
