 Dec.25, the price of AZERI LT CIF Augusta was $76.32 per barrel. The price did not changed compared to the previous day's price due to lack of trades in connection with the Christmas holidays, the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), which has produced Light Oil since 1997, reported.

 SOCAR (State Oil Compnay of Azerbaijan) plans to put into operation 30 more filling stations under its brand in 2010, SOCAR Energy Georgia (subsidiary of SOCAR in Georgia) said today. "There are many great plans concerning filling stations. About 30 new stations are planned to be opened next year," the source said.

 According to the payment balance published by the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA), as of Jan.- Sep. 2009 the surplus of the current transactions of the Azerbaijani payment balance hits $7.1 billion, including surpluses of current transactions in oil and gas sector worth $10.2 billion.  The grant agreements on ecology and education financed by the Japanese government were signed by Japanese ambassador to Azerbaijan Masamitsu Oki and representatives of Azerbaijani NGOs today. The Japanese side has allocated $763,982 for eight projects within the "Grass Roots Human Security" grant program. The projects aim to improve waste governance, water supplies, river purification and school construction in Azerbaijani regions.
