The State Support for Media Development Fund under the President of Azerbaijan awarded the winners of the competition of individual journalistic work as a result of 2009. The Executive Director of the Fund Vugar Safarli said in his speech that, the organization he leads has realized several projects so far.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev approved the 2010 budget of the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan Republic (SOFAZ) and signed a decree on budget-related activities, the presidential press service reported. The president's decree dated Dec. 25 confirmed the basic directions of spending SOFAZ funds in 2010 and estimates for management of SOFAZ asset for 2010.

The Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) will continue all necessary actions to support financial stability in the country, CBA General Director Khaqani Abdullayev said at the conference "Global financial crisis: the Azerbaijani safety effectiveness model and world experience International" held in Baku.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Saturday termed European politicians "one more stupid than the other", dpa reported. "These (European) politicians neither know anything about politics nor about history," Fars news agency quoted Ahmadinejad as saying in a speech at at Arak mosque in Tehran.
