The State Migration Service received 5842 applications from the foreigners and stateless persons in December, 2011. The State Migration Service told APA that the applications were sent for extending the term of the sojournment, getting permissions for temporary and permanent residence, getting individual permissions for labor activity and extending the term of the individual permissions.
Each of the appeals was investigated in accordance with the legislation and relevant decisions were passed.
The employees of the State Migration Service also took measures to prevent the illegal migration, violation of the rules for sojournment and permanent residence in Azerbaijan. It was found out that 1247 foreigners violated the requirements of the administrative legislation, 200 of them paid fines and their residence was legalized, decisions were passed about 870 foreigners in accordance with the Code of Administrative Offences. According to the decisions, they were to leave the country within 48 hours, 177 foreigners were to leave the country in an administrative order.
Measures are being continued to strengthen the state control over the migration.
