Azerbaijan will introduce the electronic health card system in the field of psychiatric care.

According to Report, amendments to the Law on Psychiatric Care have been proposed in this regard.

The draft law was discussed today at a meeting of the Azerbaijani Milli Majlis’s (Parliament) Healthcare Committee.

Under the document, information about the health status of individuals with mental disorders and the psychiatric care provided to them will be considered confidential and stored in the electronic health card system.

Patients receiving psychiatric care, or those who have previously received such care, will be able to access information about the assistance provided through the electronic health card system. Their legal representatives will be able to obtain this information within two working days upon written request to the institution’s management.

Additionally, information regarding refusal of treatment will also be entered into the electronic health card system.
