French “Opinionway” Research Company conducts opinion survey in Azerbaijan on eve of referendum

The French Research Company Opinionway has conducted a public opinion survey in Azerbaijan on the eve of referendum due on September 26 current year.
The survey was based on interviews with 1200 respondents that were randomly selected across the country. They answered 12 questions grouped in 3 blocks aimed at studying respondents’ socio-demographic indicators, the political and economic situation in the country as well as the upcoming referendum.
Responding to question on “To what extent are you satisfied with the work of political system in the Republic of Azerbaijan?”, 81% of respondents expressed their satisfaction while 93% of the respondents noted the activities in Azerbaijan are being carried out in the right direction.
96% of the respondents believe President Ilham Aliyev is successfully fulfilling his presidential duties.
As for the question on “What are the most important problems in Azerbaijan?”, the respondents chose two variants: the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict – 77% and economy – 41%.
82% of the respondents told they will participate in the September 26 referendum. Only 5% of the respondents haven’t decided yet.
87% of the respondents emphasized the importance of the proposed constitutional amendments. 88% of the respondents believe that the constitutional amendments will positively affect the development of the respective areas in the country.
Respondents believe that the proposals in connection with the security, protection, constitutional guarantees of human rights and freedoms will give impetus to further development.
