During a meeting Sept. 7, Azerbaijan’s Central Election Commission (CEC) reviewed the registration of the organizations that have applied to hold exit polls during the upcoming referendum on making amendments to the country’s constitution.
Deputy head of the CEC Natig Mammadov said that among these organizations, the Citizens’ Labor Rights Protection League, “For Civil Society” Independent Assistance and Consultation Center and ELS Independent Research Center have the necessary experience and there are enough grounds for their registration.
The issue was put to voting and these organizations were registered for holding exit polls.
Registration of Rey Monitoring Center will be considered during the next CEC meeting.
Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev earlier signed a decree to hold a referendum on making amendments to the country’s constitution Sept. 26, 2016.
