“The introduction of the ‘smart border’ project in Azerbaijan is expected to start on June 1, ” Deputy Chairman of the State Customs Committee Igbal Babayev said.

According to him, the project is large and has several components: “The goal is to ensure prompt passage of passengers”. Babayev underlined that this will be implemented on the basis of Smart Queue Management System: “Thus, all the passages used at the airport will be on the land border.”

He noted that the “Smart Border” project could be both paid and free: “All infrastructures have been created for our work on the land borders. At present, the infrastructure is being improved.”
