Musavat Party will participate in municipal elections

Musavat Party Mejlis held its meeting on Saturday to discuss socio-political situation in the region and country, party’s position on the municipal elections, as well as current issues, APA reports. The party’s leader Isa Gambar spoke about the world financial crisis, Russian-Georgian relations, opening of Turkey-Armenia borders, establishing of diplomatic relations between them and Azerbaijan’s reaction to it. Isa Gambar said reports on the opening of borders and establishing of diplomatic relations between Turkey and Armenia shocked the Azerbaijani society. The party leader thinks that Azerbaijani and Turkish officials should hold open talks about the problem.
Gambar said Musavat Party should seriously participate in the municipal elections and turn the elections into the serious socio-political event.
The party leader said Musavat Party supported single-list participation in the elections for candidates’ campaign in the regions.
The party members held discussions over the issue. The party decided to participate in the municipal elections in December./APA/
