ACSDA completed the project in Lankaran

ACSDA holds seminar in Sumgait University

Association for Civil Society Development in Azerbaijan (ACSDA) concluded the project “Organization of the enlightenment work for raising the activity of the electorate and assisting in conduct of fair and transparent elections at the presidential and municipal elections” with the seminar held in Lankaran city. Within the project implemented with the support of the Council on State Support to NGOs under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan seminars have been held in 10 regions of the country and booklets regarding elections and a book “Democratic elections and citizen activity” has been published. Alongside with the NGO, municipality and mass media representatives, students also actively participated at the seminar held in Lankaran. Guests from Masalli, Astara, Lerik, Jalilabad joined the event. Employees of socio-political department of the Executive Power of Lankaran city attended the seminar as well. Speaking at the seminar the head of the ACSDA Election Headquarters, candidate of historical sciences Maharram Zulfugarli expressed his opinion regarding the ways of raising the activity of the electorate, preparation to the referendum on amendments and supplements to the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan to be held on March 18, 2009 and municipal elections to be held in the autumn of 2009 and importance of NGO-government cooperation. Different questions of the participants were answered and exchange of views was held at the end of the event.
