Public events shoul be held in the Azerbaijani regions on the eve of the parliamentary elections, Head of the Independent Research Center “ELS” Irada Yagubova said at the news conference today. “The state officials performing their duties in the regions show interest in holding of educational activities for the voters,” Yagubova said.
Parliamentary elections are scheduled for Nov. 7. Previous legislative elections were held in November 2005. Parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan are held by the majority system in 125 electoral constituencies.
According to her, the representatives of the regions’ executive structures actively participated in the educational activities held in the regions.
Yagubova noted the importance of involving women candidates to participate in the elections./Trend/
