The Association for Civil Society Development in Azerbaijan has publicized its report on the Azerbaijani municipal elections scheduled for Dec.23 at the Trend International Press Center today. The report says this year’s election companies were more quite and constrictive compared to previous years. Zulfugarli connected it with small number of municipalities. Based on the report, about 31, 849 candidates were registered from the 35,000 candidates that were nominated for 15,682 places at 1,718 municipalities. Thus, two to three candidates accounts for one seat in contrast to previous elections.
The report appraised the elections administration’s activities. According to Zulfugarli, establishment of hot line and the expert group to examine complaints are also positive factors./Trend/
