As many as 1,243 people were registered as candidates for MPs to participate in the forthcoming parliamentary election in Azerbaijan, Mazahir Panahov, the Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC), said Oct. 10.
He said that some 277 people of them were nominated by political parties, 19 – the Azadlıq-2015 election bloc, 2 – by initiative groups, 945 were self-nominated.
The district election commissions have registered about 15,272 observers, while the CEC has registered 166 observers.
The parliamentary election in Azerbaijan will be held on November 1.
